Taylor Swift - Blank Space

One of the best songs by my favorite artist, Taylor Swift in her latest album '1989'. It was indeed an incredible song.
"Blank Space" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for her fifth studio album, 1989 (2014). It was written by Swift, Max Martin and Shellback. The song was released to contemporary hit radio by Big Machine Records on November 10, 2014 as the album's second single, after "Shake It Off". It is the second track on the album, after "Welcome to New York" and it is one of the three songs to have a voice memo version included in the deluxe version of the album.
"Blank Space" reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 following "Shake It Off". Swift became the first woman in the Hot 100's 56-year history to succeed herself at the top spot. From her liner notes these lyrics are about "there once was a girl known by everyone and no one" which is part of the story Taylor wants to tell with her album.
                                                                               "Blank Space"
Nice to meet you, where you been?
I could show you incredible things
Magic, madness, heaven, sin
Saw you there and I thought
Oh my God, look at that face
You look like my next mistake
Love's a game, wanna play?

New money, suit and tie
I can read you like a magazine
Ain't it funny, rumors fly
And I know you heard about me
So hey, let's be friends
I'm dying to see how this one ends
Grab your passport and my hand
I can make the bad guys good for a weekend

So it's gonna be forever
Or it's gonna go down in flames
You can tell me when it's over
If the high was worth the pain
Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
'Cause you know I love the players
And you love the game

'Cause we're young and we're reckless
We'll take this way too far
It'll leave you breathless
Or with a nasty scar
Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
But I've got a blank space, baby
And I'll write your name

Cherry lips, crystal skies
I could show you incredible things
Stolen kisses, pretty lies
You're the King, baby, I'm your Queen
Find out what you want
Be that girl for a month
Wait, the worst is yet to come, oh no

Screaming, crying, perfect storms
I can make all the tables turn
Rose garden filled with thorns
Keep you second guessing like
"Oh my God, who is she?"
I get drunk on jealousy
But you'll come back each time you leave
'Cause, darling, I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream

So it's gonna be forever
Or it's gonna go down in flames
You can tell me when it's over
If the high was worth the pain
Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
'Cause you know I love the players
And you love the game

'Cause we're young and we're reckless
We'll take this way too far
It'll leave you breathless
Or with a nasty scar
Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
But I've got a blank space, baby
And I'll write your name

Boys only want love if it's torture
Don't say I didn't say, I didn't warn ya
Boys only want love if it's torture
Don't say I didn't say, I didn't warn ya

So it's gonna be forever
Or it's gonna go down in flames
You can tell me when it's over
If the high was worth the pain
Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
'Cause you know I love the players
And you love the game

'Cause we're young and we're reckless
We'll take this way too far
It'll leave you breathless
Or with a nasty scar
Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
But I've got a blank space, baby
And I'll write your name

I was totally amazed by this song although lyrics reflected her past relationship with her ex-boyfriend, the melody was just incredible and nice to listen. But I've got a blank space, baby
And I'll write your name ____________ :)

The Biggest HIV/AIDS Research Breakthroughs Of 2014

The Biggest HIV/AIDS Research Breakthroughs Of 2014

There’s a lot to be optimistic about in the global fight against HIV and AIDS. By the end of 2013, 12.9 million people were taking life-saving anti-retroviral therapies that suppress the virus and help people lead long, healthy lives -- 11.7 million of which were from low- and middle- income countries, according to the World Health Organization.
Groundbreaking research is uncovering better ways to keep AIDS at bay and prevent HIV infection and transmission. There’s even some promising evidence that HIV’s ability to cause AIDS is weakening over time, as the result of genetic mutations.
To celebrate these advances, as well as World AIDS Day, we’ve rounded up a list of the most exciting HIV and AIDS findings of 2014.
There Could Soon Be A Better Way To Administer Anti-Retroviral Drugs
Researchers are studying several different injectable drugs that can suppress the virus for months at a time, as opposed to a daily pill. Pharmaceutical companies GlaxoSmith Klein and Jansen are working together to develop monthly injection treatments, reported the South African site Times Live back in October. Monthly injectables could help people stay on top of their HIV-suppressing therapies better than daily pills and could even function as a preventive treatment, according to Times Live, but the technology is still five to seven years away. In the same vein, researchers are also testing if vaginal rings that release anti-retroviral drugs slowly, over time, will be able to protect women from contracting HIV, according to the South African site Health-E.
Broadly Neutralizing Antibodies Could Be An Alternative To Anti-Retroviral Therapies
Broadly-neutralizing antibodies are proteins that have been shown to neutralize multiple strains of HIV, as opposed to antibodies that can only neutralize specific viruses. Broadly-neutralizing antibodies are crucial in an epidemic where there arenine different subtypes of HIV around the globe. These viruses also continue to change and mutate once inside someone’s body.
While anti-retroviral drugs can suppress levels of the virus successfully, levels of HIV go shooting up if the drug is ever stopped. Not so with BNAs, say researchers at Rockefeller University. There, scientists working with mice have shown that BNAs can prevent what’s known as “viral rebound” -- when levels of HIV increase after treatment is stopped.
Promising Vaccines Protect Monkeys, Lead To Human Trials
Researchers are making progress toward the possibility of vaccines, according to Harvard medical school professor Todd Allen, Ph.D. Allen runs his own research lab at the Ragon Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital, MIT and Harvard, where he uses genome sequencing to study how the virus interacts with a host’s immune system. Allen is hopeful that “development of an HIV vaccine is within our reach.“ Allen is especially optimistic about how experiments with monkeys demonstrated a way to protect them from SIV (simian immunodeficiency virus, a disease analogous to HIV in humans).
For instance, researchers at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health may soon begin a preliminary human trial based on research they completed injecting monkeys with long-lasting AIDS drugs. They found that these drugs prevented SIV infection, even though the monkeys were being exposed to SIV via the vagina or anus (to simulate vaginal or anal sex), reported the New York Times.
Circumcision Is Flipping The Gender Script When It Comes To HIV/AIDS Protection
In other prevention news, more communities are championing circumcision as a way to prevent HIV infection. HuffPost’s Jessica Prois found in Mozambique that circumcision campaigns were a unique way for teen boys and men to take responsibility for their own sexual health. The campaigns also represented a generational shift, reported Prois, from a time when men wanted to prove their manhood through risky and unprotected sex.
In South Africa, societal norms about circumcision and male sexual health have also shifted over the years. Since 2007, more than 1.5 million men have undergone the procedure, reports Voice of America.
A Better Way To Prevent Mother-To-Baby Transmission
Researchers think they’ve identified the best drug regimen to prevent mother-to-baby transmission: a three-drug regimen during pregnancy, as opposed to one drug during pregnancy, one drug during labor and two more after birth. A Nov. 2014 international clinical trial, sponsored by the National Institutes Of Health, found that the triple-drug regimen was safer and more effective than the standard protocol.
More than 3,500 HIV-positive women from seven different countries enrolled in the trial, which compared HIV infection rates of newborn babies after their mothers had taken either the triple-drug treatment or the control treatment. Only 0.5 to 0.6 percent of babies contracted HIV after their moms took the triple-drug treatment, as opposed to 1.8 percent of babies from the control group. The trial’s findings support the World Health Organization’s recommendations for how to treat pregnant women with HIV.
Awareness And Access Still Have A Long Way To Go
It’s important to note that there’s still a long way to go in making sure everyone has access to the treatment they need to lead a healthy life. HIV/AIDS still affects approximately 35 million people worldwide, and not all of them have adequate access to anti-retroviral drugs or even primary health care.
For instance, in the U.S. only three in ten Americans with HIV are keeping their virus levels low with regular treatment, and only half of gay and bisexual men with AIDS are getting the care they need.
Meanwhile, in countries like Mozambique with severely limited access to primary health care, traditional healers are often people’s only option for treatment, and they often end up delaying vital HIV treatment. A study by researchers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center found that HIV-positive people who visited a traditional healer had delays in treatment that were 2.4 times longer than those who didn’t visit a traditional healer. Among those who visited the traditional healer, 56 percent reported that “curses” were to blame for their HIV symptoms. Also, 55 percent of those who saw one healer said that they were cut with a razor blade and then had herbs rubbed into the cuts.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this article incorrectly called antibodies "immune cells." They are proteins, not cells.

A Birthday Cake

This is first time I went all the way to some other place just to grab a birthday cake for my fellow M buddies! It's sound crazy but I enjoyed it :) Life is not a matter of milestones, but of moments. A genuinely happy person is one who brings happiness to those around them. That's me...I hope my fellow buddies can have a memorable birthday and can do the same for the coming juniors. Well at least now I am ready to buy a cake and plan for a surprise celebration for her. Hehe...if you ask me who? Still waiting for the right person....Forgive me for my poor English. It has been a while since I last wrote an essay in English. I will work on it to improve my command of English especially on writing. Thanks for reading :) For more stuff, kindly follow my blog.

Lyn - My Destiny (My Love From The Star OST)

One of my favorite songs from Korean drama 'My Love From The Star'. This drama was about an alien who landed on Earth in the Joseon Dynasty and, 400 years later, falls in love with a top actress in the modern era. The fantasy romance stars Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun. For me, this is one of the best dramas in 2014. Here is English lyrics for this song. Hope you enjoy it. :)

If I’m allowed once again
If I could see you again
Inside my past memories
Inside that pain
I call you
You’re my destiny, you are
You’re my destiny, you are
You’re my everything
I only look at you as
I call out to you silently
You’re the one my love, you are
You’re the one my love, you are
You’re my delight of all
You are my love
forever
Come to my side
If you still love me
The tears in my eyes
want you
I love you
You’re my destiny, you are
You’re my destiny, you are
You’re my everything
The thing that
hasn’t changed
is my love for you
You’re the one my love, you are
You’re the one my love, you are
You’re my delight of all
Even if the world changes, do you
know that I will only love you?
My destiny
I call out to you

The Rose by JinnyboyTV

What if opportunity never fell? What would you do, when you're in a situation where you had something important to tell someone. Would you hold it in, or risk it knowing what you're doing is right.... Nice video and I am looking forward for part 2.

The Heirs

Currently, I am watching a brand new series of Korean drama entitled "The Heirs" staring Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye. It is too early for me to rate this drama because I still haven't finish watching this drama. However, what I can say is this drama is really nice and new for me because some of the scenes were shot in USA. Here is the plot for the drama from AsianWiki. Hope you enjoy watching this drama. Thanks for reading :)

Plot

"The Heirs" depicts the friendships, rivalries and love lives of young, rich heirs led by Kim Tan (Lee Min-Ho) and a girl named Cha Eun-Sang (Park Shin-Hye). Unlike the others, Cha Eun-Sang is considered ordinary and comes from a poor background.
18-year-old Cha Eun-Sang lives with her mother who is mute. Her mother works as a housekeeper and Eun-Sang also works part-time jobs to help out. One day, Eun-Sang's older sister (Yoon Jin-Seo) calls from the U.S. and informs them that she will marry. Eun-Sang's mother then asks Eun-Sang to send her older sister some money from her savings account. Eun-Sang isn't happy with her situation and decides to go to the U.S. herself to see if she can start a better life with her sister.
When Eun-Sang arrives in California she is in for a shock. Her older sister lives in a filthy home with a deadbeat boyfriend who seems violent. Her sister is also not getting married or going to school and works full-time as a waitress. When Eun-Sang finally tracks down her sister working at a beach front restaurant, she takes the money Eun-Sang brought for her wedding and leaves without even saying goodbye. Eun-Sang's dreams of starting a better life in America quickly vanishes and she crumbles to the ground in tears.
Meanwhile, Kim Tan is not your typical high school student, but a handsome and wealthy Korean heir to a large conglomeration. He is sitting out on the patio of the beach front restaurant, watching everything unfold between Eun-Sang and her sister. Kim Tan's American friend then sees a ziplock bag with a powdery substance fall out of Eun-Sang's suitcase and runs over to scoop it up. Kim Tan knows immediately that the ziplock bag doesn't contain drugs, but rather powder grain to make traditional Korean drinks. Soon, Eun-Sang runs off after Kim Tan's friend and Kim Tan goes to help Eun-Sang. When the dust is settled, Eun-Sang walks out of a police station and her passport is temporarily confiscated. With nowhere to go for Eun-Sang, Kim Tan offers to let her stay at his home. Although they seem to come from different worlds, they quickly develop a rapport for each other. But, when Kim Tan is at school, Eun-Sang meets a girl named Rachel (Kim Ji-Won). Rachel informs Eun-Sang that she is Kim Tan's fiance and she demands that Eun-Sang leaves his home immediately. Eventually, Eun-Sang returns to South Korea.
Kim Tan now feels nothing but emptiness after Eun-Sang's departure. He decides to go back to Korea even though his older stepbrother Won (Choi Jin-Hyuk) strongly opposes his return. When Kim Tan gets back to his luxurious mansion like home, he sees someone briefly that resembles Eun-Sang. Kim Tan goes to his mother Ki-Ae (Kim Sung-Ryoung) and asks about the unfamiliar, but familiar girl that he briefly saw. His mother tells him that the girl is their housekeeper's daughter and her name is Cha Eun-Sang. She's also staying in their home.

Petronas CNY Web Film- Young Hearts

I came across with this web film few days ago from facebook. Through this film, Petronas want to remind us to celebrate Chinese New Year today, with the same zest that we did when we were young, no matter how old we are maybe. However,  back to my childhood time was totally different from what we seen in this film because most of younger generation are born in late 20th and 21st century and everything was seem modern to them.

The film kicks off with a seemingly straight forward narrative of two children who are full of excitement on the eve of Chinese New Year, when families get together for the traditional reunion dinner.
The boy and girl cycle to town at the break of dawn and have a wonderful time preparing for the celebrations, including collecting a cheongsam for the girl and getting a haircut and a shave for the boy.

Reflect on yesterday.

Live for today.

Hope for tomorrow.

Happy Chinese New Year

Hope you enjoy this short film by Petronas~

Which life will you live? - ONE

I came across with this video few weeks ago from Youtube by Wong Fu Production featuring Wang Leehom  and Danni Wang. This video was really inspiring me and I would like to share it with everyone. This life holds infinite possibilities. A street performer in one life. An international megastar in another. Which will you choose? Hope you enjoy the video :)

Wang Leehom & Danni Wang

Dream Big. Aim High

Effort and hard work construct the bridge that connects your dreams to reality. Those who make steady efforts are full of hope. And hope, in turn, arises from steady efforts. Embrace your dreams and advance as far as they can take you. ---- Daisaku Ikeda

Everyone has a dream and I am sure some had succeeded whereas some had already given up their dreams. However, what is more important is to have the will to fight on. Actually, we are not defeated by adversity but by the loss of the will to strive. Therefore, we should keep moving forward, even one or two steps, in our own ways. Those who live out their lives to the fullest, unperturbed by the noisy clamor around them, are true winners.

"A winner is a dreamer who NEVER GIVE UP!"
                                                                            < Nelson Mandela >

Last but not least, I hope everyone can continue to dream big and aim high but remember dreams must come together with hard work!

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember you have within you THE STRENGTH, THE PATIENCE and THE PASSION to reach for the STARS TO CHANGE THE WORLD."

                                                                              <Harriet Tubman>

Thanks for reading. I hope this short passage can inspire you to keep holding on to your dream.
